Gertrude "Trudy" Sagerman, age 90, of East Canton died Saturday, June 23, 2007 in Hennis Care Center, Dover, OH. following a brief illness. Born October 10, 1916 in Bowerston, OH. to the late Clyde and Mae (McPheters) Huff. She was an East Canton area resident most of her life and a graduate of Denison High School and Canton Actual Business College. Trudy was a bookkeeper for Stark Trucking Inc. and later secretary of the Canton Women's Bowling Association for 24 years, retiring in 1994. She was awarded the Ohio Secretary of the Year. Inducted into the Canton Women's Bowling Hall of Fame in 1987 and instructed Junior Bowling for nine years. Member of the Canton Order of Foresters. Trudy was an avid bowler, enjoyed crocheting, and baking. Preceded in death by her husband to whom she was married 54 years, Donald Sagerman in 1992; two brothers, Edward and Charles Huff; one sister, Gladys Duram. Survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Robert Clapper with whom she resided in East Canton; one son, Gary Sagerman of Merritt Island, FL; five grandchildren, Mike (Beth) Clapper, Michelle (John) Parker all of East Canton, Mark (Christa) Clapper of Belmond, IA, Greg(Mary) and Gerry (Stacy) Sagerman all of the Cleveland area; 11 great grandchildren, Don (Emily) Hester, Nichole, Crystal and Andrew Parker, Tara, Cody and C.J. Clapper, Denton, Andrew, Madison and Gabrielle Sagerman; two brothers, Harry Huff of Bowerston, Gene Huff of Louisville; sister-in-law, Ruth Lab of Massillon; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 10:00 am in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Rev. Clark Kandel Jr. officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 -8 pm.
