Gerald H. "Jerry" Limbach
Age 86, of Canton, passed away Thursday September 12, 2013 in Aultman Compassionate Care Center. He was born November 8, 1926 in Canton to the late Ralph E. and Mae (Barkhurst) Limbach. Jerry was a 1944 graduate of Waynesburg High School. He retired as Chief Warrant Officer II from the United States Army after 23 years of service, retired from the College of Wooster in 1988 and was a former co-owner of Madisonburg Dairy Queen. Jerry was a member of St. Stephen Martyr Church and was a former member of Salem Lutheran Church where he served in many capacities. He is survived by his wife, Patricia L. (Scatterday) to whom he was married 63 years; one daughter, Jan E. Schaub of North Canton; one son and daughter-in-law, Jon H. and Linda D. Limbach of Shaker Heights, OH; three grandchildren, Jill (Tracey) Page, Eric H. (Abby) Limbach and Nathan R. Limbach; two great-grandchildren, Kierstin and Carson Page; one sister, Thelma Ferris of Raleigh, NC; and special nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be Monday September 16, 2013 at 1:00pm in St. Stephen Martyr Church, 4600 Fulton Dr. NW., Canton, OH 44718 with Rev. Dr. Bruce Roth officiating. A private family committal in Sandy Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Stephen Martyr Church or Aultman Compassionate Care Center.
