Georgianna "Ann" Lewis
Georgianna (Manly) Lewis, age 95, of Canton, passed away Friday, March 3, 2006 at Hanover House following an extended illness. She was born on July 4, 1910 in Canton to the late William and Georgianna (Adams) Manly and was a Canton area resident all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of North Industry Christian Church, Mayfield Senior Center, Mayfield Advisory Board, Mayfield Volunteer Club, Greater Canton Retirees, AARP Perry Chapter #2898, McKinley Eagles #2370 and Nazir Grotto Senior Club. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Jack" Lewis in 1977; a daughter, Virginia Walker; a son, Robert Lewis, Sr.; three sisters, Mildred Wireman, Gertrude Paul and Catharine Labutta. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Mason (Gust Malavite) of East Sparta; son-in-law, Tom Walker of TX; daughter-in-law, Marge Lewis of Canton; one sister, Doris Worth of CA; two brothers, William Manly of Canton and Richard Manly of Massillon; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; companion, Warren Okey; numerous nieces and nephews. Ann will be fondly remembered as being an active, hardworking and independent person. She enjoyed her volunteer hours and dances at the Mayfield Senior Center. In honoring Ann's wishes, a memorial service will be Monday, March 6, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Stephen Kimbrel officiating. Inurnment in Melscheimer Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to North Industry Christian Church @ 425- 25th St. SW, Canton, OH. 44706 or Aultman Hospice @ 2821 Woodlawn NW, Canton, OH. 44708. The family would like to thank Aultman Hospice, especially Fran, Pat, Jane and the caring staff at Hanover House.
