George R. "Dick" Dawson
George R. "Dick" Dawson, age 89, of North Canton, died Monday July 30, 2007 in Country Lawn Care Center, Navarre. Dick was born May 29, 1918 in Indianapolis, IN. to the late Herbert O. and Stella Unit (Keller) Evans Dawson. He was a Canton area resident most of his life and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He was the Owner/Operator of Dawson Electric for 20 years and retired from Kavanaugh Personnel in 1986. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Theresa Pellegrene; one brother, Herbert Dawson; four sisters, Margaret Kavanaugh, Eleanor Lutz, Grace English and Nellie Mae Anutta. He is survived by his wife, Edna Marie (Thouvenin) to whom he was married 66 years; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Francine Dawson of Canton; one daughter and son-in-law, Bonita and Kenneth Ogden of Canton; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday August 3, 2007 at 10am in St. Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. Matthew J. Albright as celebrant. Interment, with military honors, will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 6-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home.
