Genne Smith
Age 83, of Canton died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 in her home following an extended illness. Born April 29, 1932 in Garrison, WV. to the late Frank and Ollie (Lyons) Kernel. She was a Canton resident most of her life and a founding member of All Nations Tabernacle. Preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Nelson R. Smith in 1995; two daughters, Rachael and Diane Smith; three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by seven children and spouses, Robert Smith of Massillon, Rebecca and Rev. John Shafer of Cloverdale, IN, Richard and Krystine Smith of Massillon, Sarah Hyde of Canton, Deborah and Pastor Scott Kerr of Canton, Jonathan and Christine Smith and sons, Jon Jon, Brady and Jake with whom Genne resided, Mary Humbert of North Canton; 18 grandchildren, Don, Erin, Jessica, Lindsay, John Mark, Andrew, Sam, James, Nate, Scott Jr, Leah, Ashley, Josh, Jon Jon, Brady, Jake, Pierson and Deacon; 20 great grandchildren; one sister, Jeri Anderson of Lynchburg, VA. Funeral services will be Friday, June 5, 2015 at 12:30 pm in All Nations Tabernacle, 3054 – 17th Street SW, Canton, OH. 44706, with Pastor Scott Kerr officiating. Interment in West Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5 – 8 pm in All Nations Tabernacle.
