Geneva M. Weiland
Age 88, of East Canton, passed away Sunday February 24, 2013 in Oak Hill Care Center following an extended illness. She was born November 17, 1924 in Follansbee, WV to the late Ralph and Ethel (Ash) Evans. Geneva was an East Canton resident most of her life and had formerly attended St. Benedict Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John R. "Jack" Weiland Sr. in 1993; one son, John R. "Jack" Weiland Jr. in 2004. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Linda and Tom Knipfer of Lake Cable, David and Jo A. Weiland of Magnolia, Barb and Joe Crable of East Canton, Greg "Toby" Weiland of East Canton; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Willis and Millie Evans of Louisville, Marion "Sonny" and Yvonne Evans of Florida. The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Hill Care Center and Stark County Hospice for their gentle loving care for Geneva. Funeral services will be Thursday February 28, 2013 at 11:00am in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with visitation one hour before services on Thursday (10-11am).
