Gene P. Hoover Sr.
Age 71, of Canton, passed away Saturday July 2, 2016 following a brief illness. He was born July 8, 1944 in Canton to the late Ralph and Mary (Shepherd) Hoover Sr. Gene retired from Republic Steel after 24 years of service and was a member of First Friends Church, Canton. He was a volunteer and past-president of the Canton Mitey Mite Baseball Association for 18 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his former wife, Betty; three brothers, Bill, Walt and Norman Hoover; two sisters, Grace Pasquale and Sandra Munk. He is survived by one daughter, Mary Perande of Tomah, WS; one son, Gene P. Hoover Jr. of Canton and his companion, Shamrah Riviotta; step-son, Jason Martin; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ralph (Linda) Hoover Jr.; one sister, Kate Fisk; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday July 7, 2016 at 1:00pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with William Krills officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
