Gary W. Braun
Age 65, of North Industry, passed away Sunday March 11, 2012 in The Cleveland Clinic Health Foundation following an extended illness. He was born February 19, 1947 in Canton to the late Howard and Thelma I. (Miller) Braun. Gary was a life resident of the Stark County area, a graduate of Canton South High School and Kent State University. He retired from the Stark County Board of Development Disabilities in 2010 after more than 30 years of service where he had served as Adult Services Director and Director of Administrative Services. He was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church and a former member of the Stark County Antique Tractor Pullers Association. Gary's true passion was his farm in East Sparta where he enjoyed the farm life. He is survived by his wife, Debra L. (Barton) to whom he shared 40 years; one aunt, Grace Braun of Canton; one cousin and his wife, Dave and Lori Gourley of Canton; second cousins, James and Heather Gourley and their son Jack, Ritchie Gourley, Bill Gourley and Mike Gourley; his many loving and loyal friends. Funeral services will be Thursday March 15, 2012 at 10:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. Interment in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 6-8pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Stark County Board of Development Disabilities at 2950 Whipple Ave NW, Canton, OH 44708-1534.
