Frederick T. McWhorter
Age 69, of Massillon, passed away Saturday May 19, 2012 in his home following a brief illness. He was born August 26, 1942 in Canton to the late James H. and Dorothy B. (Harbert) McWhorter. Fred was a 1960 graduate of McKinley High School and was an Army veteran. He retired from Jones and Laughlin Steel after more than 30 years of service and was a Canton area resident most of his life. Fred was the founder of Theater Dance Center and Theater 8:15 in Green. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, William McWhorter, and one sister, Carol Stubblefield. He is survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, James L. McWhorter of East Sparta, twin brothers, Robert J. and Mary Ann McWhorter of Louisville, Jack E. and Sharon McWhorter of Akron; one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Jean and Kenneth E. Mowery of Massillon; a special friend, Dawna Kornick of Canal Fulton; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Fred's life will be conducted Friday May 25, 2012 at 6:00 pm in St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 127 Cherry Rd NE, Massillon, OH 44646 with Pastor Rhonda Gallagher officiating.
