Fred E. Hicks, Sr.
Fred E. Hicks, Sr., age 85, of Canton, passed away Saturday December 8, 2007 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. He was born September 11, 1922 in Bluefield, WV, to the late Robert and Maude Hicks. Fred was a WWII Army veteran and a Canton area resident since 1945. He retired from The Timken Company in 1983 after 38 years of service. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. Hicks. He is survived by one daughter, Shirley Thomas of Canton; one son, Fred E. Hicks, Jr. of Louisville; two grandsons and their spouses, Todd and Mary Thomas of Canton, Tim and Betty Burford of Canton, GA; 5 great grandchildren, Eric, Kelsi, Joshua, Michael and Christopher. Funeral services will be Wednesday December 12, 2007 at 1:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Terry Bailey officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services on Wednesday (12-1pm). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association at 1815 W.
