Frank L. Swanson, Sr.
Frank L. Swanson, Sr. age 61, of Canton, passed away Tuesday May 6, 2008 in Aultman Hospital following an 8 month battle with cancer. He was born December 22, 1946 in Akron, OH, to the late George and Avis (Lozier) Swanson. Frank was a graduate of Akron Central-Hower and the Akron University. He was a Canton area resident for the past 29 years and was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, Jackson-Belden Post Office. Frank's true joy was his children; he was a very kind and generous man. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Verna Haines. He is survived by his two loving children, Frank L. Swanson, Jr. of Canton; Angie (Steve) Mumaw of Valparaiso, IN.; one brother, George (Sherry) Swanson of Garrettsville, OH; one sister, Barbara Tanner of Tallmadge, OH; former wife, Marsha Swanson of Canton; father-in-law, John Haines of Canton. Funeral services will be Friday May 9, 2008 at 1:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home. Friends may call Thursday 6-8pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Aultman Hospice at 2821 Woodlawn NW, Canton, OH 44708 or to any cancer research charity.
