Frank A. Bayer
Frank A. Bayer, age 81, of East Canton, loving husband, dedicated father, proud grandfather and great grandfather, passed away Friday, February 15, 2008 following an extended illness. Frank was the son of the late Franz and Hilda (Krejci) Bayer. He was a 1944 graduate of Canton Township High School where he was a member of the marching and dance bands. He was a WWII Navy veteran. Frank established a career as an Architectural Hardware Consultant and later became director and owner of BHR Industries. Following his retirement in 1980, he served as a volunteer for the Aultman Hospital EMT department, with MADD and was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church and East Canton Lion's Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty (Hayden) Bayer; one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Brenda Bayer; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Jan Bredon, Lisa and Bruce Tolley; 8 grandchildren, Amanda (Jaime) Crowe, Kelsie and Kaylyn Bredon, Austin, Alyssa and Adam Tolley, Travis (Erin) Bayer, Jennifer (Dave) Arn; 2 great grandchildren, James III and Jakob Crowe. He is preceded in death by one sister, Jesse Boettler. Frank was tenderly cared for by his adopted family at Green Meadows Wellness Center. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating Frank's life will be Tuesday February 19, 2008 at 6:00pm in Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Thewlis officiating. Friends may call one hour before services at the church (5-6pm). Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Tabor UMC at 108 E. Walnut St., East Canton, OH 44730.
