Frances Ellen (McCaulley) Shearer
Passed away Sunday May 24, 2015 following a brief illness. Frances was born March 10, 1927 in Porter, PA to the late Francis John and Ellen (Lettie) McCaulley. Her parents moved the family to East Canton when Frances was just one year old. She married Richard Shearer on October 16, 1945 and settled on the Shearer Farm just outside of Robertsville. Frances and Dick were married 61 years prior to his passing in 2007. Frances is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; her son, Tim Shearer; her daughter, Kathleen Pearson; her grandson, Joshua Shearer; four brothers, John, Tom, Paul and Benjamin McCaulley. Frances and Dick loved to travel and they toured every continent except Antarctica. They enjoyed cruises in the waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, Mediterranean, and rivers from China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Europe to our own beautiful rivers in the United States. During her lifetime Frances was involved with Christ Memorial Church in Robertsville as choir director, Sunday school teacher, summer Bible school teacher, and an officer of the Sunshine Circle Guild. She was an active member of her East Canton High School graduating class of 1945 throughout her life. She had an avid interest in her perennial flower garden, read extensively, and had a deep love for her family and church. Frances is survived by two sons, Scott Shearer of Morrow, GA and William Shearer of Lakewood, CO; daughter-in-law, Beth Shearer of East Canton; son-in-law, Steve Pearson of Lakewood, CO; grandchildren, Ryan Shearer, Lindsay (Doug) Milano all of East Canton, Angela (Ian) Peters of Denver, CO, and Daniel (Sarah) Pearson of Longmont, CO; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Colton and Charles Pearson, Geno and Greta Milano. Funeral services will be Friday May 29, 2015 at 11:00am in the Christ Memorial Church with Pastor Jonathan Arnold Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Robertsville Cemetery. Friends will be received Thursday 5-8pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton and one hour before services on Friday at the church (10-11am).
