Frances I. Long
Frances I. Long, age 84, of Louisville, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday November 6, 2007 in Altercare of Louisville following an extended illness. She was born July 24, 1923 in Canton, to the late Othur F. and Geneva M. (Williamson) Oberly. Frances was a Louisville resident since 1959, prior to which she had resided in East Canton. She retired as an Executive Secretary in 1984 and had formerly been employed by Canton Wood Products for 27 years. She was a member of the East Canton Church of God where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for 25 years, member of the choir, Women of the Church of God, youth leader and coordinator for the Friendly Seniors. Former member of the American Business Women's Association, charter member and past president of the Lowell D. Oberly American Legion Post #667 Auxiliary, and was an avid bowler since 1975. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Long; one brother, Lowell D. Oberly. Frances is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie Dougherty of N. Canton, Marcia and Ernie Naugle of Portage, OH, Carole Dourm of Minerva, Pamela and Terry Moore of Louisville; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Susan Dourm of Oneida, TN; 7 grandchildren, Craig, Crista, Carrie, Danyelle, Corey, Curt and C.J.; 7 great grandchildren, McKensey, Drew-Mikel, Sydnee, Savannah, Noah, Conner and Gretta; three brothers, Dale, Gerald and David Oberly; four sisters, Marilyn Schwall, Evelyn Walker, Bonnie Weinstock and Karen Maxwell. Funeral services will be Monday November 12, 2007 at 11:00am in the East Canton Church of God with Rev. Charlene Moore officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Sunday 2-5pm in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home and one hour before services on Monday (10-11am) in the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association at 4916 Hills & Dales Rd NW, Canton, OH 44708.
