Flora B. Barnes
Age 86, formerly of Canton, passed away Saturday October 15, 2011 in Burbank Parke Care Center, Burbank, OH. She was born October 27, 1924 in Canton to the late Charles E. and Gwladys (Evans) Knouff. Flora was a former resident of the Canton, Louisville and Carrollton areas. She was a WWII Woman's Army Corp (WAC) veteran where she served at Crile Military Hospital in Cleveland, OH. She retired from Bowman Medical and Stark Surgical, member of Vo-Ash Chapel in Carrollton and the American Legion Post #428. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James L. Barnes in 2004; one daughter, Bessie Jane Duplain; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Barnes; three brothers, Alfred, David and John Knouff; two sisters, Olive Olmstead and Mae Billie. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gwen and Bill Potts of Carrollton, Linda and Jim McCormick of Ashland, OH; one son, James Barnes of Canton; four grandchildren, Aaron (Janice) Potts of Carrollton, L. Steve James of Cuyahoga Falls, Jennifer (Keith) Powers of New London, OH, Julie (David) Scheub of Ashland; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Potts, Emily and Ashley Powers; two sisters and brother-in-law, Elsie Lang of Louisville, Bernice and Edward Weber of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her great-granddaughter, Ashley for her loving care during Flora's final hour. Funeral services will be Wednesday October 19, 2011 at 2:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave with Pastor John T. Mayle and Pastor Glen Goff officiating.
