Evelena C. Jones
Age 86, of Louisville died Monday, August 4, 2014 in Oakhill Manor following an extended illness. Born January 14, 1928 in Charleston, WV. to the late James Roy and Lucy Margaret (Rhodes) Tolley. She was a Canton area resident since 1947 and a member of Howenstine Christian Church. Evelena loved to cook and bake and share all she made. She never knew a stranger and always beamed a smile. She was a generous donator to many charitable organizations and was an avid letter writer to her many family and friends. Evelena loved lavishly! Preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Jones in 2009; one brother, Hayward Tolley; two sisters, Gertrude Casto and Susan Norris. She is survived by two daughters, Patsy Shuman (James) of Franklin, NC, Judy Jones-McCown (David) of Louisville; five grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Nitzche, June DeMar, Shirley Sample, Karen Kress; five brothers, Don, Wayne, James, Mickey and David Tolley. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Chris Davis officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Assoc., American Cancer Society or the Stark County Humane Society.
