Esther M. Ash
Age 87, of Canton died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born August 6, 1924 in Canton to the late Paul and Minna (Schweitzer) Mallonn. She was a life resident of Canton, a graduate of St. Mary's High School and had attended Ohio Wesleyan University. She was formerly employed as a receptionist for her son's dental office for several years. Esther was a member of Church of the Savior United Methodist Church and had been active with several local civic and charitable organizations. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Red" Ash in 1991. Survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Jr. and Martha Ash of Perrysburg, OH., Dr. David and Erin Ash of Jackson Twp., Paul and Francie Ash of Brighton, MI., Dr. Jon and Dorene Ash of Jackson Twp.; ten grandchildren, Brian, Chris, Nathan, Andrew, Benjamin, Meara, Sarah, Carly, Maggie and Sam Ash; three great grandchildren, Max, Mason and Brooklynn Ash. The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff at Aultman Hospital for their compassionate care given to Esther. A memorial service will be Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 1:00 pm in Church of the Savior United Methodist Church, 120 Cleveland Ave. SW., Canton, OH. 44702, with Rev. Edward M. Fashbaugh II officiating. Parking is available at the City Center Parking Deck at Tuscarawas St. and Cleveland Ave. Memorial donations may be made to Church of the Savior UMC and/or the Charles "Red" Ash Scholarship Fund at Canton South High School.
