Elvira Mae Freeman
Age 99, of Canton, passed away Friday December 31, 2010 in Stone Crossing Care Center. She was born December 8, 1911 in Canton to the late Samuel Richard and Amy (Anthony) Griffing. Elvira was a member of First Free Methodist Church in Canton where she had been active in Children's Ministries, a Deaconess, past president and treasurer of the Women's Missionary Society. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, J. Roger Freeman in 1980; three sisters, Amy Kincaid, Margaret Griffing and Garnet Coleman; three brothers, Harry, William and Lawrence Griffing; one daughter-in-law, Janice Freeman. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Victoria Freeman of Columbiana, Gary and Mary Ellen Freeman of Canton, Kenneth and Jennifer Freeman of Stow; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three sisters and brother-in-law, Rose Duncan of Lancaster, Olive Manning of Provo, Utah, Florence and Robert Barr of Columbia Station; one sister-in-law, Ruth Griffing of Andrews, NC. Funeral services will be Wednesday January 5, 2011 at 3:00pm in Christian and Missionary Alliance Church at 4900 – 12th St NW, Canton, OH 44708 with Rev. Taylor Williams officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 2:00pm in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S.
