Elva A. Albrecht
Age 95, of Massillon died Saturday, August 24, 2013 in the Laurels of Massillon following an extended illness. Born May 31, 1918 in North Industry, Ohio to the late Edward Ray and Carrie (Snyder) Young. She was a life resident of the Canton/Massillon area. Elva was a professional interviewer for the U.S. Government Census Bureau for 32 years. She was a member and past president of AARP Chapter #3958 where she also served as tour director for 10 years. Preceded in death by one daughter, Jayne Marie Ross; three brothers, Carl, Pete and Lawrence Young. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Kathleen Helmick of Canton, David and Darleen Helmick of East Canton, Timothy and Mindy Helmick of Navarre; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Young of Canton. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Terry Bailey officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 10:00 – 11:00 am.
