Elsie Jane Slatzer, age 88 of East Sparta, OH, died Monday October 11, 2004 in Mercy Medical Center. Born February 14, 1916 in Old Straitsville, OH to the late Irie and Addie Hanning. She lived most of her life in the Canton and East Sparta area. She worked several years for East Sparta Ceramics & Tile Company. She attended Howenstine Christian Church. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Allen and Patricia Slatzer of Canton, one grandson, Steven A. Slatzer and his wife Lilajean of Bolivar; granddaughter, Stephanie L. Slatzer of Wadsworth, OH., three great grandchildren; Matthew, Samantha and Brandon Slatzer. Preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Oscar L. Slatzer, son Rodney Porter Slatzer, seven brothers, two sisters and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Chris Davis officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 pm and one hour before services on Thursday 10:00-11:00am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Canton Christian Home at 2550 Cleveland Ave., Canton, OH 44709.
