Elsie Mae Garrison
Elsie Mae Garrison, age 70, of Canton, passed away Sunday May 11, 2008 in Canton, following an extended illness. She was born July 23, 1937 in East Gulf, WV. to the late Emmett and Mildred (Gouge) Hughes. Elsie was a Canton area resident most of her life, retiring from FirstMerit Bank after 25 years of service. She was a member of Stoner Heights Mennonite Church in Louisville. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John D. Garrison in 1988; one brother, Wilbur Hughes; brother-in-law, Elmer Young. She is survived by one daughter, Cathy Nicholas of Canton; two grandchildren and their spouses, James and Amanda Kennedy of Fairport Harbor, OH, Angela and Ryan Barnett of Akron, OH; one great grandson, Eli Kennedy Barnett of Akron, OH; one sister, Lelia Young of Canton; one brother, Dickey Hughes of Canton; sister-in-law, Sandy Hughes of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday May 15, 2008 at 10:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Mayle officiating. Interment in North lawn Cemetery.
