Elmer L. "Fats" Young
Elmer L. "Fats" Young, age 67, of Canton, died Friday May 4, 2007 in his home following an extended illness. He was born April 28, 1940 in Robertsville, OH, to James E. and Hannah E. (Meese) Young. He was a life resident of the Canton area. Formerly employed by Canton Oil Well Service for 15 years and was the owner/operator of Young's Tire Service for 10 years. "Fats" was an avid hunter, fisherman and a loyal Cleveland Indians fan. He is preceded in death by his father, James Edward Young; two brothers, James and Frank Young; two sisters, Patricia Boggs and Shirley Soper. He is survived by his wife, Lelia M. (Hughes) to whom he was married 45 years; three daughters and sons-in-law, Tena and Walt Hall of Canton, Sherry and Kevin Kimble of Canton, Diana and Eugene "Sonny" Arkenburgh of Canton; seven grandchildren, Joe, Jessica, Ben, Cody, Brandon, Corey and Savannah; his mother, Hannah E. Young of Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday May 8, 2007 at 10:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Jack Mayle officiating.
