Elmer E. Rohrig
Elmer E. Rohrig, age 86, of Canton died Saturday, July 22, 2006 in Aultman Hospital. Born January 3, 1920 in Caldwell, OH. to the late Walter A. and Elizabeth M. (Crock) Rohrig. He was a Canton area resident most of his life and a WWII Army veteran. Retired from the Timken Company in 1982 after 42 years of service. Member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Canton, American Legion Post# 440, Holy Martyrs Knights of Columbus #4733, St. Mary's Senior Citizens Club and Altar/Rosary Society. Preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and James Rohrig; two sisters, Anna Mary Strubel and Irene Michel. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary M. (Rupple) Rohrig; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Mary Ann Rohrig of Canton, Frederick and Pat Rohrig of Canton; six grandchildren and spouses, Kyle Rohrig of Cleveland, Ryan Rohrig of Cleveland, Eric and Mary Rohrig of Gainesville, FL, Michelle and Scott Zaret of Seattle, WA, Renee Rohrig of Mountain View, CA, Annette and Jeremy Gursky of Stow; four brothers and sister-in-law, John and Bernadine Rohrig of Canton, Ralph Rohrig of Navarre, Paul Rohrig of Magnolia, Melvin Rohrig of Canton; one sister and brother-in-law, Marcella and Herbert Crum of Louisville; sisters-in-law, Betty and Ellie Rohrig both of Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, July 27, 2006 at 10:00 am in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Canton, with Fr. Gerald Sommer M.S.C. as celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Mary Immaculate Conception Church, Canton @ 1602 Market Ave. S., Canton, OH. 44707 or a charity of your choice.
