Eleanor S. Sauer
Eleanor S. Sauer, age 84, of Canton, died Sunday July 10, 2005 in Canton Regency following an extended illness. She was born July 24, 1920 in Jersey City, NJ, and raised on the family farm in Utica, NY, by her parents, the late Rev. Dr. Willard P. and Eleanor (Butler) Soper. She was a Canton area resident since 1967, prior to which she had served as a Preschool Director in Pelham, NY. She was a very active member of Christ Presbyterian Church, Canton, where she was active with the food and clothing ministry. Member of the Keenagers and served as a volunteer with the Canton Christian Home for many years. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard C. Soper in 1990; two brothers, Rev. Willard B. Soper and Kenneth P. Soper. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Margaret Soper of New York; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and great nephews. In keeping with Eleanor's request, a graveside service will be Thursday, July 14, 2005 at 1:00pm in North Lawn Cemetery with her nephew, Rev. Willard M. Soper officiating. The Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. is in charge of arrangements.
