Elden Whaley, age 66, went home unexpectedly Sunday November 19, 2006. He was born June 30, 1940 in Glouster, OH, to the late William N. and Ella (Sharp) Whaley. He was a 1959 graduate of Minerva High School and served in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Korea with the rank of sergeant. Elden was an East Canton resident since 1971 retiring from Sugardale Foods in 1988. He had a compassionate heart, taking in stray animals and people who were down on their luck. Elden loved his family and all children; he will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by six brothers, Albert, Johnnie, Billy, Richard, Russell and Walter "Pat" Whaley; one brother-in-law, Guy Waldeck; He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Betty Whaley of Marion, AL; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Raymond Lambert of Louisville, Thelma Waldeck of Stone Mountain, GA, Virginia and William Fiscus of Massillon; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8pm in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton. Graveside services will be Wednesday November 22, 2006 at 10:00am in Forest Hill Cemetery with Terry Bailey officiating. Condolences or fond memories may be sent to www.sandersfuneralhomes.com
