Kahler, Elaine M.
Elaine M. Kahler, age 79, of East Canton, passed away Thursday January 8, 2009 in her home. She was born June 14, 1929 in Cambridge, OH. to the late Francis and Agnes (Brislin) Stroud. Elaine was an East Canton resident most of her life and retired from K Mart in 1990 after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Center Church of the Brethren where she had served as a Deaconess and board member. She was a former Girl Scout Troop Leader and a member of the Broadway Neighbors Club. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant daughter; three brothers, Gary, Robert and John Stroud. She is survived by her husband, John R. Kahler to whom she was married 60 years; four children and their spouses, Dean R. Kahler of East Canton, Beverly J. and Barry Henry of Jefferson City, MO, Evelyn M. Keane of Jefferson City, MO, Allen R. and Shannon Kahler of N. Manchester, IN; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Francis and Arnette Stroud of Cambridge. Funeral services will be Monday January 12, 2009 at 11:00am in the Center Church of the Brethren with Pastor Jim Lee officiating. Interment in Center Church Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 2-4pm in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton and one hour before services at the church on Monday (10-11am).
