Edwin L. Steinbach
Edwin L. Steinbach, age 80, of Massillon, died Friday March 17, 2006 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. He was born, November 27, 1925 in Pike Township to the late Clyde and Lora (Scharr) Steinbach. He was a life resident of the Stark County area and a 1943 graduate of Massillon Washington High School. Edwin was a WWII Navy veteran. He retired from Ashland Petroleum in 1989 after 42 years service and was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees and in various other capacities. Edwin was a retired charter member of Perry Township Fire Department, Station #3, member of Clinton Lodge #47 F.&A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, and Tadmor Temple where he was very active with the children's transportation unit. He is survived by his wife, Clara E. (McDonald) to whom he was married 57years; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Elaine Steinbach of Massillon, Ronald Steinbach of Canton, James and Caren Steinbach of Cortland, OH; one daughter, Sandra Brue of Canton; four grandchildren, Daniel (Mollie) Brue, Megan (Chris) Shilling, Jennifer and Brad Steinbach; one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Lois Steinbach of Phoenix, AZ. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00am in Otterbein United Methodist Church with Pastor Phil Raynes and Rev. Paul Gerycz officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Monday 5-8 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave, where there will be Masonic Services at 4:45pm and Last Alarm Fire Services at 7:45pm. Friends may also call one hour before services on Tuesday (10-11am) at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Otterbein U.M.C. at 6025 Shepler Church Rd SW., Navarre, OH 44662.
