Edward M. Slish
Edward M. Slish, age 83, of Canton, died Friday evening, June 24, 2005, in Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. Born January 17, 1922 in Canton, OH. to the late Michael and Mary (Incheck) Slish. He was a life resident of the Canton area and retired from Republic Steel in 1978 after 38 years of service. Member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and VFW Floyd Hughes Post # 693. World War II Army Air Corps veteran. Preceded in death by one brother, John Slish; four sisters, Mary Southern, Margaret "Peg" Riley, Delores Zimmerman, Mildred Ramey. Survived by his wife of 37 years, Jane B. (Keplinger) Slish; one son and daughter-in-law, Edward R. and Mary Slish of Chardon, OH.; two granddaughters, Taylor and Madeline Slish, both of Chardon; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Josephine Slish of Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church (Canton), with Fr. Vincent Freeh M.S.C. as celebrant. The procession will form at the church.Entombment in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 6 - 8 p.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave.
