Edward A. Mizanoski, Sr.
Edward A. Mizanoski, Sr., age 88, passed away July 6, 2007 following a brief illness. Ed was born February 17, 1919 in Canton, OH, where he resided his entire life. Ed was employed as a Crane Operator at U.S. Steel, Canton Division retiring in 1982 after 34 years of service. He served as Treasurer of the USWA for many years. Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Dolores (Oliver) Mizanoski. He is survived by his son, Edward A. Mizanoski, Jr (Wilma) of Bolivar; daughters, Judie Talafous of Winston-Salem, NC and Joan Bailey of Las Vegas, NV; son, William Mizanoski (Mary) of East Sparta; daughters, Janice Young (Ray) of East Sparta, Anne Marie Hein (Richard) of East Sparta; 20 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by one brother, John Mizanoski. He will be fondly remembered by sisters-in-law, Eileen Starkey and Kathleen Blandford; brother-in-law, William Oliver as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Ed proudly served in the 76th Infantry Division, 315th Regiment in the U.S. Army during WWII. He participated in the Battle of Ardennes, the Battle for Central Germany and the Battle of the Rheinland. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, WWII Victory Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday July 9, 2007 at 10am in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Larry Hambach as celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 2-5pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home. Ed and his family would like to express their gratitude to Michael V.
