Edgar W. Calhoun
Edgar W. Calhoun, age 82, of Canton, died Thursday, November 4, 2004 in his home. He was born in Newland, NC to the late Roy & Oma Calhoun and was a Canton resident since 1953. Edgar retired from the Timken Co. in 1981 after 28 years service. Member of Central Baptist Church, and a WWII Navy Veteran. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, and a sister. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Myrtle R. Calhoun, one daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and James T. Sanderson of Navarre, one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Evelyn Calhoun of Massillon; 4 Grandchildren, Jeffrey Calhoun of Deerfield, IL, Kristen Prough of Akron, Jennifer Schoen, James J. Sanderson both of Canton. 7 great grandchildren, Michael Prough, Johnathan and Joshua Schoen, Kyle, Mariah, Luke, and Isaac Sanderson. Four brothers and sisters-in-law: Raymond & Pearl Calhoun of Hampton, TN; Russell & June Calhoun of Athens, GA; Harvey Calhoun of Akron; John Calhoun of Hampton, TN; sister, Shelby Jean Caroll and step-mother, Ethel Calhoun both of Hampton, TN, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Monday, November 8, 2004 at 10 am in the Central Baptist Church, with Pastor Randy Newcomer officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Sunday 2-5 pm in Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. Friends may also call one hour prior to services at the church (9-10am).
