Earnest M. "Jake" Johnson
Earnest M. "Jake" Johnson, age 79, of East Sparta died Thursday, November 23, 2006 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born July 1, 1927 in Roan Mountain, TN. to the late Edward and Etta Johnson. He was an East Sparta area resident most of his life and member of the Church of Christ. Retired from LTV Steel with 30 years of service. Jake always put family first in everything he did. Preceded in death by one sister, Helen Oaks; one brother, John Johnson. Survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 54 years, Marie A. Johnson; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Joe Hoiles of Canton; one grandson, Christopher "Buck" Szakacs of Canton; eight sisters, Helen, Silva, Cathleen, Cleo, Sue, Kay, Bertha and Judy; two brothers, John and Jim; numerous nieces and nephews. Jake's family was always in his thoughts and Jake will always be in ours. Funeral services will be Monday November 27, 2006 at 1:00 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Terry Bailey officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 12 - 1:00 pm.
