Earl A. Eckelberry
Age 95, of Canton, passed away Sunday March 10, 2012 in Canterbury Villa of Alliance. He was born April 18, 1917 in Washington County, OH. to the late Clement and Mildred (Patterson) Eckelberry. Earl was a 1936 graduate of East Canton High School and a WWII Army Veteran. He retired from The Timken Company in 1982 after 45 years of service. Earl was a member of the East Canton Church of God where he had served as an usher for many years, member of Canton Lodge #60 F&AM and the Scottish Rite Valley of Canton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Eckelberry in 2011; two sisters, Lena Eckelberry and Lula Brunk. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mark A. and Susan Eckelberry of Canton; one daughter, Gloria M. McLaughlin of Salem; three grandsons, Daniel Dickerhoof of Homeworth, Douglas Dickerhoof of Salem and Ethan Eckelberry of Canton; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Arthur (Mary) Eckelberry of Canton. Funeral services will be Tuesday March 12, 2013 at 2:00pm in the East Canton Church of God with Pastor Michael Jones officiating. Friends may call one hour before services on Tuesday in the church (1-2pm). A private family inurnment will be in West Beech Cemetery.
