E. Katherine "Kate" Clapper
Age 83, of Minerva, passed away Friday June 12, 2015. Kate was born October 8, 1931 in Malvern to the late Milton and Hazel (Patton) Baxter. She was a 1949 graduate of Malvern High School. Kate was a Minerva resident since 2000 prior to which she had resided in Robertsville. She was formerly employed as a Postmaster Relief for 12 years at the Robertsville Post office. Kate was a member of Christ Memorial Church, Robertsville where she served as secretary for more than 30 years, was active with the Goodwill Bible Class and the Sunshine Circle Guild. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Clapper in 2010 to whom she was married 58 years; one son, Gene Clapper in 2008; three sisters and one half sister. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Jeff Haines of Canton; one son, Larry Clapper of Marble Hill, GA, and his fiancée, Wendy Green; two grandchildren, Andrew and Elise Haines of whom Kate was so very proud; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday June 16, 2015 at 11:00am in Christ Memorial Church with Pastor Jonathon Arnold Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Robertsville Cemetery. Friends will be received Monday 6-8pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton and one hour before services on Tuesday at the church (10-11am)/ In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Christ Memorial Church, Robertsville.
