Doyle H. "Smitty" Smith
Doyle H. "Smitty" Smith, age 84, of Canton died Friday, November 10, 2006 in Hennis Care Centre, Bolivar following an extended illness. Born in Rush Run, Ohio on December 27, 1921 and was a life resident of the Canton area. He was a WWII army veteran where he was awarded five bronze stars. Retired from Ed Schory and Son with 37 years of service. Former member of the American Legion Post # 548, Louisville. Preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Smith in 1990; one sister, Dorothy Ott; one nephew, Sheldon Smith. Survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Florence and William Kautz, Jr. of Magnolia; two grandchildren, William Kautz III of Massillon and Joy Kautz-Jovingo of Canton; one great granddaughter, Hailey Jovingo of Canton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, November 13, 2006 at 10:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Sunday (Today) from 5 - 7 pm.
