Dorthy M. Bates
Age 79, of East Canton entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born October 22, 1932 in East Rochester, OH. to the late John and Laura (Hickey) Weddell. She was an East Canton resident most of her life and a 1950 graduate of East Canton High School. Dorthy was a member of Little Country Church and the Sonshine Circle Guild. She is preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard Corbett. Survived by her husband of 60 years, Glen F. Bates; two daughters and son-in-law, Eileen Corbett of East Rochester, Cheryl and Robert Locke of Uniontown; one son; four grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sally and James Cable of Hartville, Betty and Marion Kutay of Canton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Mary Weddell of Hanoverton, Richard and Sharon Weddell of East Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, June 11, 2012 at 10:30 am in Little Country Church, 7886 Ravenna Ave. SE., Waynesburg, OH. 44688, with Rev William Carter and Rev. Dale Boston officiating. Interment in Robertville Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday from 9:30 – 10:30 am. Memorial donations may be made to the Little Country Church, Waynesburg.
