Dorothy M. Shepherd
age 95, of East Canton, passed away Wednesday December 30, 2009 in McCrae Manor. She was born August 12, 1914 in Canton, to the late Ferdinand and Mary (Faulk) Wess. Dorothy was a 1932 graduate of McKinley High School and a resident of East Canton for 61years. She was a member of Kountze Memorial Lutheran where she was formerly active with the women's sewing group and retired from Kress IGA in 1974 after 15 years of service. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Shepherd in 1969; one daughter, Marlyn Sukosd; one granddaughter, Barbara Sukosd; one sister, Marie Wess; one brother, Edward Wess. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn J. Smith of Louisville; one son and daughter-in-law, Edwin P. and Kim Shepherd of Homeworth; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Miriam Wess of Middlebranch. Funeral services will be Saturday January 2, 2010 at 1:00pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor David Lathrop officiating. Internment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
