Dorothy M. Himes
Dorothy M. Himes, age 84, of Canton, passed away in Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born May 31, 1924 in Canton, OH. to the late Carmen and Anna (Loudiana) Larcena. Dorothy was a life resident of the Canton area and a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. She was formerly employed by Metropolitan Ceramics, United Reality and Hess Garment Factory. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Merle Himes in 1970 to whom she was married 24 years. She is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Bonnie Himes of Tampa, FL, Gregory and Jean Himes of N. Canton, Scott and Denise Himes of Bolivar, Michael and Sue Himes of East Canton, Patrick and Dori Himes of East Sparta; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Sue and Larry Brabson of Lorain, Bonita and Thomas Bennett of Carrollton, Patricia Byington of Canton; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; one sister, Marie Himes of Canton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday August 22, 2008 at 10:00am in St. Benedict Catholic Church with Fr. Benson Okpara as celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. The procession will form at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the St. Benedict Church Roof Fund.
