Doris Arlene Myers
Age 93, of East Canton passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 in Aultman Compassionate Care Center surrounded by her family. Born December 20, 1923 in Waynesburg, Ohio to the late Roy and Mabel (Henning) VanVoorhis. She was a 1941 graduate of East Canton High School. She retired from Osnaburg Local Schools in 1993 where she was a bus driver for 23 years. Arlene was a member of the First Christian Church, Happy Homemakers Club and had been a 4-H advisor for 10 years. Preceded in death by her husband, Ralph D. Myers in 2011; one daughter, Karen Miller; step-mother, Beulah VanVoorhis. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene and Don Ryan of Louisville, Cheryl and Dennis Lillie of Louisville, Gayle M. Myers of N. Canton; one son-in-law, Tom Miller of New York; four grandchildren, Scott (Dominica) Miller, Gwendolyn (Michael) Giannelli, Brett and Monica Lillie; two great grandchildren, Liesl and Luciana Miller; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wendell and Shirley VanVoorhis of East Canton, Richard and Sheryl VanVoorhis of Waynesburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Jess Thomas of Applecreek, OH. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan 11, 2017 at 10:00 am in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor Leah Pursley officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 – 8 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Aultman Compassionate Care Center.
