Doris G. Meader, age 86, of Canton, died Tuesday May 30, 2006 in Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born June 1, 1919 in Jackson, OH, to the late Clarence and Hazel (Howe) Bartlett Sr. Doris was an 1937 graduate of Minerva High School and was a Canton and East Canton area resident most of her life. She retired from Merit Plastics in 1978 and was also employed by Baker's Cafe for many years. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James A. Meader Sr. in 1959; two brothers, Charles and Clarence Bartlett Jr.; two sisters, D. Louise Clapper and Mary Clapper. Survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James A. and Linda Meader Jr of Canton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Shirley Roland of Richmond, VA, Hazel and James Lanham Jr. of Canton; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 11:00am in Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor Randy Shafer officiating. Interment in Indian Run Cemetery.
