Doris V. Dutter
Doris V. Dutter, age 88, of Canton, went home to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on, May 12, 2005. Born in Canton, December 2, 1916 to the late Charles C. and Janet (Wilkinson) Ream.She was a life resident of the Canton area and a 1934 graduate of Canton Township High School. A 1938 graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and she received a Master of Arts degree in 1949 at Kent State University. She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women where she served in many leadership roles. She was also a member of Daughters of America. Doris taught and served as a Principal at Middlebranch High School from 1939 to 1954. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jane Wacker; one brother, David Ream; and one nephew, Richard Ream. She is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Harriet Ream of Canton, Elizabeth and Ken Schempf of Louisville; one sister-in-law, Mildred Ream of Canton; seven nieces, nephews and their spouses, Patricia Rastetter, Ronald (Linda) Ream, Robert (Beth) Ream, Susan Worley, Howard (Linda) Wacker, Karlee Lombardo and George Schempf; several great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. Funeral services will be Monday May 16, 2005 at 11:00 am in Christ United Methodist Church with Rev. Nancy Lynn Conley officiating. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave., and one hour before services at the church ( 10 - 11am ). In lieu of flowers, Doris would have preferred donations be made to Christ United Methodist Church at 3500 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton, OH 44709 or to the charity of your choice.
