Doris E. Dudash
Doris E. Dudash, of Canton, left us to join the Heavenly Choir on her 99th birthday, February 11, 2008 in St. Luke Lutheran Community following an extended stay in their care. She was born February 11, 1909 in Canton, to the late Frank L. and Lettie M. (Niesz) Wise. She was a life long member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, having served as a Sunday School teacher for more than 60 years, choir member, founder of the church newsletter and the first female council member at the church. She was a charter member of the City of Flags Chorus of Sweet Adelines, Inc., member of the Canton Civic Opera Auxiliary, an avid bridge, euchre and cinch player. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew L. Dudash in 1980; one sister, Virginia Minton; four brothers, Wilford O., Harold D., Richard K. and Homer Jack Wise. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Karen Sue and Robert T. Ault of Shaker Heights, OH; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. and Donna L. Dudash of Sherrodsville, OH; 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; one sister, Gladys M. Degenhard of the Canton Christian Home; three sisters-in-law, Martha Grant, Bessie L. Wise and Mara Lena Wise; many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be Friday February 15, 2008 at 11:00am in the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church at the Crossroads in Sandyville with Pastor Roger Thompson officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 6-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home and one hour before services at the church (10-11am).
