Doris L. Betz

Age 89, of N. Canton, passed away Saturday December 8, 2018 in the Sanctuary Grande. She was born August 2, 1929 in East Canton, OH to the late Paul T. and Gertrude M. (Edwards) Baker. Doris was a 1947 graduate of Osnaburg High School and was formerly employed by Harter Bank and Smith’s Grocery. She attended St. Paul’s Community Christian Church. Doris was a life-long Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan following in her fathers’ footsteps. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Betz in 2004; sister, Donna Genet; son-in-law, John Pretorius. Doris is survived by one son, Craig (Alisa) Betz; two daughters, Lynne (Steve) Montgomery and Diane Pretorius; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one sister, Beverly Baker (Helen Ritchey). The family would like to thank the staff at the Sanctuary Grande and Aultman Hospice for their wonderful care. Funeral services will be Monday December 17, 2018 at 11:00am in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor Ed Dickerhoof officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends and family will be received Sunday 2-4pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Foltz Community Center to benefit the Senior Program at 224 Wood St N., East Canton, OH 44730.
