Donald E. Witts Sr.
Age 87, passed away Wednesday September 14, 2016 in St. Luke Lutheran Community. He was born September 8, 1929 in Sandyville, OH to the late Robert and Audrey (Frizzel) Witts. He was an Army Korean War veteran. Donald retired from Canton Local Schools in 1992 after 22 years of service and was a member of the Canton Baptist Temple. He formerly was an avid bowler with the Monday night league at Park Center Lanes and served as a Little League baseball manager in Canton South for 9 years. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Marie K. Witts; one brother, Robert G. Witts; step-mother, Berdine Witts. Donald is survived by his wife, Barbara (Hockensmith) to whom he was married 13 years; two daughters and son-in-law, Patty Larkins, Pam and Jim White; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Kathy Witts Jr., Tim and Sharon Witts; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a good friend and military buddy, Joseph Tassone. The family would like to thank St. Luke Lutheran Community and Compassionate Care Hospice for their wonderful care and support. Funeral services will be Monday September 19, 2016 at 10:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
