Donald W. Vliet
Donald W. Vliet, age 65, of Canton died Tuesday October 14, 2008 in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. Born February 5, 1943 in Canton to Donald P. and Sylvia (Plesia) Vliet. He was a life resident of Canton and a U. S. Air Force veteran. Donald was formerly employed by Lone Star Steak House, Glenmoor Country Club, Topps Chalet and the Canton Club. He was a member of the Canton City Police Boys Club where he participated with the Golden Gloves Boxing. Donald loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and his hunting beagle hounds. Preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Vliet. Survived by his father, Donald P. Vliet of Canton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Vicki Vliet of South Carolina, Peter and Dina Vliet of Navarre; one nephew, Christopher Vliet of Lexington, KY; two nieces, Mollie Vliet of Monroe Falls, OH, Hope Vliet of Navarre; one great niece, Lillian Vliet of Lexington, KY; aunts and uncles, Charles and Marian Vliet of Massillon, Earl and Nancy Plesia of O'Fallon, MO, Robert and Vicky Miner of Canton, Virginia McClain of Canton, June Maclellan of Denver, CO; his best beagle hound, Lady. The family would like to thank Hennis Care Centre, Bolivar and Staff for their wonderful care given to Donald. A private family graveside service will be conducted at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
