Donald C. Stropki
Age 72, of Canton, passed away Thursday January 29, 2015 in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. He was born April 29, 1942 in Canton to the late Charles and Pauline (Yakubik) Stropki. Donald was a life resident of the Canton area and a 1960 graduate of Perry High School. He retired from The Timken Company in 1991 with more than 30 years of service and was formerly employed by Allied Machine and Engineering and Lion Technologies. He was a member of St. Mary's/St. Benedict Parish. Don loved to hunt and fish with his son and sons-in-law; they were in constant pursuit of the" Big Buck". Don always had a joke, enjoyed antique cars and his former drag racing days at Magnolia Drag Strip. Don found his true peace while spending time at the farm. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Stropki. Don is survived by his wife, Louise E. (Dureska) to whom he was married 53 years; three children and their spouses, Lori and Mark Morris of Canton, Lisa and Mike Mangeris of East Sparta, Don and Lisa Stropki of East Sparta; three grandchildren who he dearly cherished, Nicholas Stropki, Nathan Morris and Abby Mangeris; two brothers, Tom Stropki, Dave and Pam Stropki. The family would like to thank Dr. Louis Shaheen for his wonderful care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday February 3, 2015 at 10:00am in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Canton with Fr. Benson Okpara as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends will be received Monday 6-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home.
