Donald L. Ross

Age 93, of North Canton passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 in Altercare of Nobles Pond. Born April 24, 1925 in Canton, Ohio to the late Lester and Arlene (Frantz) Ross. He attended Canton South High School, Canton McKinley High School, the University of Florida and graduated from Kent State University Class of 1950. Don was a U.S. Army Air Corps WWII veteran where he served as a flight officer. He also served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S Air Force Reserves. Don was the retired owner/operator of Don Ross Motors that he operated for 45years. His son, Joseph was active in the business as sales manager and his wife, Lita served as office manager and bookkeeper. He was a charter member of the Canton South Rotary, also member of the East Central Ohio Pilots Assoc., American Legion, North Canton Eagles and Elks and the downtown Canton YMCA Athletic Club since 1982. Don enjoyed golfing and skiing with his friends and flying his plane which he used for business and pleasure. His greatest enjoyment was his time spent with his wife, Lita and family. Preceded in death by his son, Joseph Ross; two brothers, Tod Ross and Bob Becker. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lita (Billman) Ross; two grandchildren, Heidi (Brent) Bach, Erik (Amy) Ross; four great grandchildren, Carter and Amelia Bach, Matthew and Lauren Ross; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thank you to the friends and relatives who visited Don during his time at Altercare of Nobles Pond. All services will be private. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery.
