Donald W. Pitz
Donald W. Pitz, age 78, of Navarre, died Monday June 19, 2006 in Doctors Hospital following an extended illness. He was born April 17, 1928 in Canal Fulton to the late Clell and Ruth (Sibila) Pitz. He was a life resident of the Western Stark County area, retiring from East Ohio Gas in 1986 after 38 years of service. Member of Pike Grange, Clinton Lodge #47 F&AM, Massillon, Order of Eastern Star #180, Canal Fulton, and Trinity Church United Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Lorna Pitz in 1969; one daughter, Sherry Moke; one sister, Hazel Nettle. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Needham) to whom he was married 34 years; two daughters and a son-in-law, Janice Wells of Canal Fulton, Luanne and Thomas Everhart of Canal Fulton; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Glenn Nettle of Clinton. A memorial service will be Saturday June 24, 2006 at 2:00pm in the Trinity Church United Church of Christ with Rev. Dr. John F. States officiating. Friends will be received one hour before services at the church (1-2pm). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Trinity Church United Church of Christ Building Fund at 8101 Manchester Ave NW, Canal Fulton, OH. 44614 or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation at 5000 Rockside Rd., Suite 310, Independence, OH 44131. The Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. is handling arrangements.
