Donald E. Mark
age 81, of East Canton, passed away Thursday December 16, 2010 in St. Joseph Care Center. He was born August 10, 1929 in Canton to the late Harold and Marie (Ferrey) Mark. Donald was a 1948 graduate of East Canton High School and a Korean War Army veteran where he was awarded with a Purple Heart. He retired from Stark Ceramics in 1989; member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Lowell D. Oberly American Legion post #667 and was the first inductee into the East Canton Football Hall of Fame. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Mark in 2001; granddaughter, Angela Mathess; one brother, Robert Mark; one sister, Janice Henderlong. He is survived by five children, Paul Mark of Canton, David (Julie) Mark of Florida, Jane Ann Mathess of Canton, Steve Mark of East Canton, Karla Casto of East Canton; seven grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan (George) Swan of East Canton, Jean (Tom) Ascani of Canton. A memorial mass will be Tuesday December 21, 2010 at 10:00 am in St. Benedict Catholic Church with FR. Benson Okpara as celebrant.
