Donald E. Himes
Age 87, of East Canton, passed away Friday April 20, 2012 in Aultman Hospital. He was born March 25, 1925 in Canton to the late Thomas and Hazel (Kipfer) Himes. Donald was a WWII Army veteran having served with the 174th Combat Engineers. He was a life resident of the Canton area and retired from Harrison Paint Company in 1985 after 39 years of service. He was a member of Grace Brethren Church, Canton. Donald is survived by his wife, Vivian M. (Johnson) to whom he was married 62 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and David Bruce of Carrollton; one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Jill Himes of Medina, OH; three grandchildren, Brian and Tim Bruce both of Carrollton, Yuri Himes of Medina; one brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Sylvia Himes of Luxemburg, WI; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ruth and Harry Reed of East Canton, Carol Himes of Canton; two nieces. Funeral services will be Tuesday April 24, 2012 at 1:00pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor Joe Cosentino officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call one hour before services on Tuesday (12-1pm). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Grace Brethren Church at 6283 Market Ave N, Canton, OH 44721.
