Donald R. Clapper
age 82, of Minerva, passed away Tuesday February 2, 2010 in his home. He was born November 15, 1927 in Osnaburg Township to the late Alph T. and Emma J. (Schramn) Clapper. Donald was a Minerva resident since 2000, prior to which he had resided in Robertsville. He was a WWII Army veteran and had served as a volunteer fireman with the Robertsville Fire Department for many years. He retired from Schneider Lumber in 1992 after 30 years of service. He had attended Christ Memorial Church, Robertsville where he was very active with the Goodwill Bible Class. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Gene Clapper in 2008; four brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, E. Katherine (Baxter) Clapper to whom he was married 58 years; one son, Larry Clapper of Big Canoe, GA; one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Jeff Haines of Canton; two grandchildren that were the apple of his eye and his greatest joy, Andrew and Elise Haines; one brother, Chalmer "Chet" Clapper of East Canton; one sister, Violet Keister of Minerva; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday February 6, 2010 at 11:00am in Christ Memorial Church with Rev. Jeffrey Lord officiating. Interment in Robertsville Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 5-8pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton and one hour before services at the church (10-11am). Memorial donations may be made to Christ Memorial Church at P.O.
